Newfren friction components, available from VE (UK), have released a new “Prorace” compound brake shoe for the Classic Vespa Range.
The main body of the brake shoe is made from a special die-cast aluminium alloy before having the new “Prorace” friction material applied. The new compound has exceptional characteristics that offers considerable improvements in braking performance with a 30% increase in stopping force resulting in a 25% reduction in braking distance.
Proven to improve safety in city traffic thanks to its high resistance to brake fade, and particularly suited for racing scooters that see repeated and heavy braking forces.
The new “Prorace” brake shoes (VE12254-PRO) are suitable for fitment to the following models of Classic Vespa”
Vespa PX 125/150/200, Vespa PK 50/100/125, Vespa 150 Sprint, Vespa Rally 180/200, Vespa T5, Vespa GL 150, Vespa SS180, Vespa GS 150/160, and Vespa 125 GTR.
