VE (UK) are pleased to announce the launch of a new high performance scooter tyre from Dunlop.
The ScootSmart tyres are constructed using the latest tyre technology based on the experience gained during the design and use of the highly regarded RoadSmart motorcycle tyres. The tyre has been developed using finite element simulation (FEA) with a tread compound using the highest quality silicone products to provide the perfect balance between grip, load bearing, and high mileage.
ScootSmart from Dunlop combines the precision handling, braking and traction that owners demand allowing confidence in traffic and in cornering, with excellent performance in both wet and dry conditions. Tyre life is also very important and the ScootSmart balances these properties with great longevity. The tread pattern of the ScootSmart is designed to allow lower rolling resistance whilst still maintaining excellent grip under all road conditions.
Further technical innovations were taken from the highly successful RoadSmart sports touring tyre: the ScootSmart has a higher sea/land groove distribution in the central area to enhance performance in the wet, and a lower percentage of groove area in the shoulder zone of the tyre to heighten grip and cornering performance at extreme lean angles. Deeper tread grooves in the central area maintain improved wet-weather performance throughout the tyre’s lifecycle. FEA hydroplaning simulations led to the inclusion of long lateral grooves and multi-directional
sub-grooves, not just for more efficient water drainage but also to optimise contact pressure for high mileage and more regular wear.
All in all, the new Dunlop ScootSmart tyre offers the rider confidence and road handling under all conditions thanks to its inherited world class innovations.
The new ScootSmart from Dunlop is available in a wide range of fitments covering radial and cross-ply in 13”, 14”, 15” and 16” to suit many popular makes and models of scooter.
