Converting older 6v Vespa’s over to a 12v lighting system has always been a popular modification to make, due to the brighter lighting output and availability of 12v bulbs when out and about. VE (UK)’s two latest Classic Vespa products have those early Vespa owners clearly in mind.
Our VE lighting coil set and chrome light switch have been sourced to make the conversion over to 12v as painless as possible, allowing a simple upgrade to their current lighting circuit. When fitting the lighting coils an upgrade to a 3 terminal PX regulator and small changes to the wiring are also required.
Both items are suitable for the majority of 6v Vespa’s, including but not limited to: Vespa 100, 125 GTR, 150 GL, 150 Sprint, 150 Super, 180 SS, 90 SS, Rally, Primavera and Sportique. The lighting coils are also suitable for any 6v Vespa that uses coils with a 44mm hole spacing.
